PHD Electrical Contractors is proud to support the shift to a low-carbon energy network in the UK’s electrical generation and storage sectors.
We collaborate with leading companies to design innovative infrastructure and technologies that harness the power of renewables, supporting the UK’s mission to transition to sustainable, low-carbon energy.
PHD has always sought to move with the times without losing our high workmanship standards and commitment to customer care. Our current structure enables us to respond quickly to fast-moving programs of work, utilising a mixture of directly employed staff and hand-picked subcontractors.
Our commitment to our staff and our clients has generated a great deal of loyalty. Our staff and subcontractor team are well-versed in the PHD ethos of working and the support we offer them in return.
We are also committed to providing our staff with ongoing training and personal development opportunities to help them reach their full potential.
We are powered by our people
Oliver Parry

For the last 18 years, he has primarily worked in the power generation and distribution sector and, more recently, in the Battery storage sector (BEES). With a proven track record in operations and project management, he has been directly responsible for over 1 GW of electrical installation work for ICPs and principal contractors.
As comfortable in a boardroom as he is on-site, Oliver is a fully trained Gold card electrician who will still get his hands dirty if needed. Oliver firmly believes in supporting, encouraging, and investing in the workforce to help them reach their full potential and deliver high-quality projects.
Joe Bennett
Lead Jointer
Joe is an enthusiastic and pragmatic jointer with a keen eye for detail, making him a valuable asset to PHD Electrical Contractors Ltd.
Joe has a wealth of experience jointing and testing HV cables at 11KV, 33KV, 66KV, and 132KV using many of the leading brands of terminations.
Joe attended NKT in Sweden in June, along with his colleague, which means we can now offer high-voltage 52-84 kV outdoor cable termination, APED 52-84 kV, and installation of High-Voltage 123-170 kV outdoor cable termination APECB 123-170.
Joe continually reviews his capabilities, undergoing regular training to ensure his knowledge is current. He was one of the first UK jointers to complete his Demirer Kablo training, and he has since completed several installations at 132KV.
With his positivity and determination, Joe consistently delivers a high-quality installation.
